Abstract 1st talk: Introduction to nonlinear PDE and interacting particle systems First, we study basic tools for modern PDE theory. Then, two main research topics, mathematical models for fluid and gas, will be introduced including derivations, main results, and open problems. In particular, we will focus on the Boltzmann equation, a mathematical model for efied gas theory which will be a main topic of Session 2. 2nd talk: Trends to equilibrium in collisional rarefied gas theory Dynamics of rarefied gas is described by the Boltzmann equation and trends to equilibrium is a key property of rarefied gas theory. There are some open problems about this asymptotic behaviors . In this talk, a way of proving equilibrium will be introduced under billiard-like boundary condition. In particular, we analyze NONDE-GENERACY condition of billiard-like trajectory which is key argument for equilib-rium state.
